What your wrestler will gain

  • Sharper techniqueOlympians and NCAA champions teach in small groups. Then your wrestler drills each move until the details are right, from the setup to the finish.
  • Calm in close matchesLive wrestling every day against partners who push back. By the end of camp, a close third period is something they've felt plenty of times.
  • Habits that come homeA hot breakfast, full days on the mat, lights out at 10 p.m. Day after day, that routine turns into habits your wrestler keeps all season.
  • A smarter wrestlerReview sessions cover the why behind each move, like when to attack and what to hit when the first shot gets stopped. Your wrestler learns to think a match through.
  • An athlete for the long runEvening guest speakers and sports-science seminars teach recovery and nutrition, so your wrestler knows how to keep improving long after camp.
  • A competitor's mindsetKen's staff includes Olympians and college head coaches who have been where your wrestler wants to go. Campers learn how champions set goals and how they bounce back from a loss.

For parents

Let Ken's family take care of your family.

Ken has run youth wrestling programs for more than 30 years, and he is still passionate about seeing young wrestlers reach their potential. His wife, Beth, the camp administrator, runs everything off the mat. The coaches and counselors are a big part of the Gold Medal Training family Ken has built, and many of them have been with it for years.

Worth the drive, or the flight. Families come from far and wide every summer: California, Wyoming, Texas, Florida. In past years, we've even had campers from Europe and Japan! Flying in? We provide rides to and from the Harrisburg airport for the Pennsylvania camp and the Cincinnati airport for the Ohio camp. Choose that option when you register.

Why 12 days makes a difference

The 12-day camps run at Spooky Nook Sports in Pennsylvania, July 11–22, 2027. Here's what two weeks of intensive training gives your wrestler.

  • Rep after repTwelve days of teaching, drilling and live wrestling. Coaches return to the same positions again and again, and your wrestler drills each one until it's automatic.
  • Moves that stay learnedWhat gets taught in week one gets reviewed in week two. When the season starts, it's still there.
  • Confidence you can seeBy the second week, a move that felt awkward early on starts scoring in live wrestling. Your wrestler sees it work and starts to trust it.
  • A head start on winterSummer wrestling makes winter champions. Twelve days of serious training sends your wrestler into the season with new skills already drilled in.

Thankful for the relationships, and everyone pouring into me & my team to get us ready for the season.Ross BrooksCoach, after two weeks at camp with his team, July 2026

“I attended Ken's camps in the '90s with my brother and a small crew of East Tennessee wrestlers that made the trip every summer. The results the next season were unmistakable. Ken's training system made its mark: that crew went on to win multiple state medals and state championships, and produced an NCAA Champion in 2002.

It's why I make the drive every summer now with my two sons, Baylor (11) and Connor (9). I know what they're getting and how much they'll improve, and this year we're looking at the boys' first SuperGold Middle School experience.”

I have attended Coach Chertow's Camp with my son since he was just 5 years old. It has been an absolutely amazing 16 years!

Anthony is now 21 and excelling in college wrestling, and I truly believe the experiences, lessons, friendships, and training he received through Ken Chertow Camps have played an important role in his journey.

For all these years, we have traveled from New England to Ken's camps in Pennsylvania and other states. Every experience has been special, unique, and memorable. The quality of the instruction and the incredible number of wrestling legends who come together each year to coach at Coach Chertow's camps is simply amazing.

We watched Anthony grow through every stage of the program, from Future Champions and Kids Training, to Gold Medal, and eventually, as a teenager, the SuperGold Training Camp. It has been incredible to watch his steady progress, development, and success over the years.

Those weeks spent together every summer, one week when he was younger and now two weeks, have created some of the greatest memories of my life. As a dad, getting to share that experience with my son has been priceless.

Anthony is now a counselor at camp, which makes me incredibly proud. In recent years, I have also become more involved, helping Ken and Beth behind the scenes to make all aspects of camp as successful as possible. Being part of the camp from a different perspective has given me an even greater appreciation for the tremendous amount of work, dedication, and passion that goes into making the Gold Medal Training Camp System what it is.

I have seen firsthand the effort that Ken, Beth, the coaches, counselors, and staff put into creating an experience that goes far beyond wrestling. It is about developing wrestlers, building character, creating friendships, and making memories that last a lifetime.

There are many excellent wrestling camps across the country, but for our family, nothing compares to Coach Chertow's Camps. That is why we have made it a priority to make it happen every year.

Sixteen years later, I can honestly say that choosing Ken Chertow's Camp for Anthony has been one of the best decisions we have ever made.

Thank you, Ken and Beth, for everything you have done for Anthony, our family, and so many wrestlers over the years. We are proud to be part of the Ken Chertow Camps family.

I started attending Ken Chertow's wrestling camps at age 12, and the impact on my career was immediate. Ken's training helped propel me to become a 3X State Finalist, a State Champion, and an NHSCA Senior National All-American. I attribute much of my success to Ken's camps and the world-class wrestling community he surrounds you with. I found his camps so valuable that I started bringing my youngest son, Korbin, when he was just 5 years old. I found his camps so valuable that I started bringing my youngest son, Korbin, when he was just 5 years old. He's 14 now, and we haven't missed a single summer. Korbin has grown into one of the most decorated youth wrestlers in the country—he's already a 3X Super 32 Champion, a 4X USA Wrestling National Triple Crown Winner, and a WOW Trinity Award Winner.

So much of our family's success traces back to Ken Chertow. He brings in the absolute best the sport has to offer, giving athletes and families access to unmatched knowledge and top-tier training opportunities.

I flew in from Kansas for Coach Chertow's SuperGold camp more than once, and it was worth every mile. I showed up a baby-faced kid and took my share of lumps. I left tougher, sharper and hungrier, and I kept getting better all through high school and into college. Those camps started my path to being a college wrestler. Questions parents ask.

How do I pick the right camp?

Start with the grade your wrestler enters in fall 2027. Future Champions is for kids entering grades 1–4, with a parent alongside. Kids Training Camp is for kids entering grades 3–5, 6 days or 5 days. Third and fourth graders can pick Kids Training or Future Champions. It's your family's call whether your son or daughter wants the longer, more serious camp or the shorter one. Middle schoolers (entering grades 6–8) have the Middle School Gold Medal Training Camp, and high schoolers have the High School Gold Medal Training Camp, each 6 days or 5 days. Newer middle and high school wrestlers do well at the 4-day Technique Camp.

SuperGold, SuperGirl and SuperGold Middle School (entering grades 6–8) offer 12 days for serious wrestlers, the most complete wrestling development experience we offer. 7th and 8th graders can choose SuperGold Middle School or SuperGold; the difference is mostly who they room with, middle schoolers or teens. Campers entering 5th grade and below need a parent staying with them to be a resident camper. The camp chooser above gives you a starting point.

Is camp a good fit for a newer wrestler?

Yes. Beginners are welcome, and we encourage them to come. The 4-day Technique Camp is built for newer wrestlers, and Future Champions welcomes first-timers entering grades 1–4.

Where is camp?

At Spooky Nook Sports. In Pennsylvania, that is Spooky Nook Sports in Manheim, Lancaster County (July 11–22, 2027). In Ohio, it is Spooky Nook Champion Mill in Hamilton (June 19–24, 2027). At both locations, our Warehouse Hotel is attached to the Sports Complex. It is very safe and convenient.

When is camp in 2027?

Pennsylvania: July 11–22, 2027, with two check-in days, Sunday, July 11 and Sunday, July 18. Every camp starts on one of them: 12-day camps July 11–22, 6-day camps July 11–16, 5-day camps July 18–22, Technique Camp July 11–14, Future Champions July 11–14 or July 18–21.

Ohio: June 19–24, 2027, one check-in, June 19. 6-day camps June 19–24; Technique Camp and Future Champions June 19–22. The 2027 coaching lineup will be announced soon.

What does resident camp include?

Four-star hotel accommodations for the length of camp at the Warehouse Hotel, which is attached to the Sports Complex, in a room with two queen beds. Three great meals a day and a highly trained camp nurse on site for the length of camp.

Camp is highly supervised. There is an 8:1 staff-to-camper ratio (6:1 in youth camps), and counselors take roll at every session and run bed checks every night.

Can my wrestler commute instead?

Yes. Commuters get the full training schedule and meals, then go home each night. There is a commuter discount.

Is there a nurse at camp?

Yes. We hire a camp nurse for the length of camp, and they are always highly trained. Report any illness to the camp nurse right away. Parents who want to talk with the nurse about medications or concerns can do so at check-in.

Who's in charge day to day?

Ken runs the training every day, all day, with his committed staff of hand-picked championship coaches and college wrestlers. His wife, Beth, the camp administrator, runs everything off the mat. Beth taught school for 22 years. She is the mother of two daughters and a son who wrestled at Ken's camps for years, and a grandmother of two, and she treats every camper the way she would her own children or students. This is the Chertow family.

Who does my wrestler train with?

We ask wrestlers to choose partners close to their own age and weight. Staff keep watch over the pairs so training stays safe and productive.

Is there internet? What about security?

High-speed internet is available. Security cameras cover most common areas. There are no cameras in guest rooms.

Is there a camp for girls?

Yes. Ken offers the premier girls' summer wrestling experience in the nation. Visit the SuperGirl site.

What about July 4th?

When a camp week includes July 4th, campers join our July 4th celebration at the facility. The 2027 camps fall outside the holiday: Ohio runs June 19–24, 2027 and Pennsylvania runs July 11–22, 2027.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

When you register, you can add optional Purchase Protection, a refund service from Purchase Protection LLC (it is not an insurance policy). It refunds 100% of the camp fee if something unforeseen, like a sudden illness or injury, a hospital stay or a death in the family, keeps your wrestler from coming, usually only if it happened in the 7 days before camp and only with proof such as a note from your doctor. It does not cover a change of plans, a pre-existing condition, or a camper who starts camp and has to leave early, and every claim must be filed within 48 hours after camp. Read the provider's terms before you buy.
